First horse trial was yesterday and was SO MUCH FUN! I’m going to keep this to a visual post but long story short: I was not unhappy with our dressage test (I expected to be riding a hollow giraffe, but got a horse, so yay!), I am mad at myself for being lazy on the arguably easiest single vertical on the jumper course (and they were only 2’7″! GAHHH still kicking myself, never taking a breather in the middle again), and I am surprised at how terrible my cardio is during cross country (is it normal to want to vomit after jump 12?).
Moving forward, some notes and videos:
1) Dressage– Cover more ground, expect less horse when no jumps are around
2) Jumpers– DON’T GET LAZY WHEN JUMPING SLASH COMPETING SLASH EVER gahhh…. *kicks myself*
3) Cross Country– Run more, and Gracie doesn’t trust water. We still got through it but was surprised to learn this fact. Apparently last year she flat out stopped at the water! Who knew there was anything that could phase her?? Still surprised but armed with knowledge now haha
Also there was a great costume contest, and next year, I have the best costume idea EVER. But in the meantime, please appreciate this artistry:
Until next year, Waredaca… #pigswillfly
